Day 2 Budleigh Salterton to Poole
We woke up this morning at 5:00am, the alarm was set for 4:30 but it was snoozed a lot! We set off from the beach both very cold and watched the sun rise as we cycled. In the first couple of miles we were exposed to many huge uphills but kept going, the thought of breakfast pushing us through. After 27 miles and many more massive uphills, we stopped at Lyme Regis for a yummy breakfast ( I had smashed avocado and poached eggs on toast and daddy has a veggie full English ). The hill out of Lyme Regis was quite long and steep and even daddy got off and pushed!! Later after about 20miles, we stopped for a sleep as the mid day heat was getting too overwhelming. I slept most of the time we were staying in our shady spot but was woken by 4 ant bites. After a much needed sleep we cracked on until Weymouth where we sat in a shady spot by the beach. We then kept going, following the route 2 cycle paths (which ended up going off road causing us to have to push our bikes for about 3 miles) untill we reached the sandbanks where we got a ferry costing £1 per person- the money will go to ActionAid. We finally made it to our end destination for the day, some kind freinds home in Poole. We are our dinner, showered, planned our route for the next day and went to bed all before 11!
